Tis the Season!!!

We spent Thanksgiving this year in Pensacola! Susan's family drove from Austin and we all had such a fun time catching up!! It's wild to think of Erik and Taylor as "grown ups", but they are! The weather was amazing and we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner on the porch, Erik and Chris played a bit of golf, we played games, the girls drove the golf cart, and football was in the background, of course.
Once we returned from Pensacola for Thanksgiving, we started decorating!!!! The girls are so excited this year. Ella vividly remembers Elfie (the elf on a shelf) from last year and was so excited when he arrived perched on the mantle the night after decorating our tree. Each day Elfie has left a special treat in their advent calendar and watches over them. At night he flies off to the North Pole to tell Santa all about the day and then he returns in a new spot for the girls to find him in the morning. It makes each day so much fun and the count down to Christmas is greatly anticipated!!

Amidst of the Thanksgiving and Christmas cheer, we've been back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, with offers and counters on a house. After a not so hot inspection and more negotiations, WE'VE GOT IT! So, after renting for a year and a half in our wonderful house and neighborhood, we will be moving to start anew on Jan. 15th! It is so bitter sweet leaving this street. When I told Christina, we both had tears in our eyes, but on the flip side, we are sooooo excited. It's a great house, built in '95 (so it definitely needs some upgrades), has a big backyard, is on the TPC Valley course, has all the rooms we need and a play room, is in the school district we need to be in, and is only 5 miles south of where we are now. I can't believe we'll be moving so soon!! Little do the Gerics know, when they show for Christmas on Abaco Lane, it will be a big packing party :) !!!!
More on the house and our breakfast with Santa later........
