On Saturday we celebrated Ella's 4th birthday with 8 of her special friends!! It was a Fancy Nancy themed bday and we had a blast! Mom had the most fun with all little stuff, especially the Poem for the invitation!!

Surprisingly, Ella came home from school on Friday and took a nap for the first time in months. When she woke, she was burning up, 103.5, and was pretty miserable for the rest of the night. Motrin, Tylenol, Motrin, Tylenol every 3 hours. On Saturday morning, she said she felt better and was sooooooooo excited for her party. I now assume she was going on complete adrenaline. The guests arrived and everyone got their fancy name for the day (ie. Exquisite Ella, Spectacular Sophia, Marvelous Madeleine) and we brushed up on how to be fancy by reading our Fancy Nancy Stories! The girls all went out back for the"Get Fancy" relay race where they each put on tutus, tiaras, necklaces, bracelets, boas, and sunglasses. It was a bit chaotic and the concept of the relay quickly flew out the window, but in the end all were fancy, indeed. Except Ella, birthday girl decided that she was fancy enough on her own and quickly removed all accessories. They then each had multiple turns at bringing down the candy and treats with the OOh La La Fancy Pinata. We had lunch complete with star and butterfly sandwiches and we couldn't leave out the frilly toothpicks that Fancy Nancy loves. And for dessert, in addition to the hot pink tiara cupcakes, we had PARFAITS and all the fancy toppings. After playing on the swingset, the girls all made Fancy Party Hats with feathers, pom poms, etc. It was a busy morning.........and mid-way through Ella fizzled. A slight fever returned and she took to daddy's lap, but once again, she was a birthday trooper. Anyone remember last year's birthday throwing up episodes?
